Can two things be true in the Cornell 7 case?

Jane Doe alleges she was dr*gged and s*xually assaulted involving members of Cornell University’s Chi Phi fraternity in 2024. No individual has been criminally charged as of October 6. Gov. Kathy Hochul has appointed New York Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor to investigate the allegations.

Meanwhile, newly reported Cornell disciplinary records show two defendants were expelled and two were suspended.

That raises a separate question from what prosecutors can ultimately prove: if the allegations are true and someone knew the situation was going too far, what moral responsibility did they have to stop it?
