It still says running, and the report's been wrong since Tuesday.

Split the job where you'd naturally pause, one folder or one sheet tab per step, and have each step save what it made to a file a person reads before the next one runs. Give every step one check you can do in about a minute. When a check fails, fix that one file and rerun from there, so you catch it the day it broke.
