What Looked Simple Turned Costly on a Husqvarna Riding Mower

This Husqvarna YTH24V54 riding mower only has 56 hours on it, but sitting up turned what looked like a simple repair into a costly problem.

This one came into Raley’s Small Engines as a no-start / won’t-do-anything situation. As always, we started with Simple Things First — checking the battery, fuse, power, and basic electrical before chasing anything too deep.

Once it finally started turning over, the next problem showed up. It would start, run, die, and act up like a mower that had been sitting way too long. The old fuel situation was nasty, the battery gave up, and this low-hour mower quickly proved that “only 56 hours” does not always mean an easy fix.

After draining the old fuel and trying to clean and save the original carburetor, this Husqvarna still would not run right. By the end, it needed a new carburetor to finally get it running like it should.

Low hours do not mean much if a mower sits long enough. Sometimes what looks simple turns costly.
