We never expected our travels through Vietnam to end like this. After spending months travelling around Vietnam, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel our current trip and head home to Australia after Tanya was diagnosed with a serious medical condition.

In this video, we’re sharing exactly what’s been happening, why we had to seek medical care in Vietnam, our experience visiting Vietnamese hospitals and seeing specialists, and why we’ve decided it’s time to leave Vietnam earlier than planned.

This certainly wasn’t how we imagined this part of our journey ending. We’ve been travelling full time after selling our home, car and everything we owned to retire early and see the world, so suddenly having to stop and head home has been a huge shock.

We also want to share our experience of getting medical care in Vietnam, including what it was like navigating hospitals and specialist appointments as foreigners.
