Trailer In The Ditch! Can we get it out without destroying it?

FINALLY… the Zacklift gets to leave the yard and do something besides sit around looking expensive.

This time the call came from James with JD Towing. He originally got the call for a travel trailer that came up just a little short on a turn—which is a polite way of saying the road went one direction and the camper decided the ditch looked more interesting.

James was already on scene, but didn’t have the right equipment on the truck he was driving at the time. Fortunately, I just happen to own an unnecessarily capable Zacklift that has been begging for an excuse to go do some actual recovery work.

So we brought it out, rigged up the trailer, lifted it back onto solid ground, and somehow managed to make the whole thing look suspiciously professional. Once the trailer was back where trailers generally belong, James got the damaged tire changed and the customer was able to continue on their trip.

No destroyed camper.
No unnecessary drama.
No one yelling at each other.
No “Well… THAT wasn’t supposed to happen.”

Just two tow companies working together, a genuinely cool customer who was great to deal with, the Zacklift getting to earn its keep, and a smooth, damage-free recovery.

Which, admittedly, doesn’t make nearly as good of a story as everything going horribly wrong… but I’ll take it.
