TNO Polandball MV: Ugly American

일단은 다음엔 뭘 만들건가 후보군이 있긴하지만 그래도 고민중이니 뭐 만들어달라 이러시면 좀 부담이 있긴있으니 양해바랍니다...

SAF전쟁이 생각보다 인기를 챙겨서 외전격으로 이걸 만들었는데 만들다가 군대를 위해 공부를 좀 한다고 또 영상 안만들다가 처음 계획보다 전개가 전의 SAF 뮤비보다 전개가 생각보다 깔끔하지도 않고 리듬감도 억지로 맞춘듯한 느낌이 든 만큼 많이 조잡힙니다... 영상에 대한 아쉬운 것이 있다면 의견을 남겨주셨으면 감사드리겠습니다. 그래도 끝까지 만들어보자는 마음으로 포기하지 않고 계속 만드니 끝을 맽긴했네요. 이후로도 다른 영상들을 만들 예정이니 기대해주셨으면 좋겠습니다.

생각보다 가사가 매우 1960년대를 잘 드러내는 영상인데, TNO 세계에서도 가사가 매우 싱크로율이 높아가지고 만드는데 재미는 좀 있었습니다. 어글리 아메리칸 이벤트 체인을 중심으로 주요 국가적 분쟁을 담는 여러모로 정말 외전격이지만 위에 상술 했듯 공부의 사유로 반년이나 작업을 그만 둔 덕택에 마저 만드는것도 참 힘들었습니다.

일단 포기하지않고 다 만들었다는 점에서 스스로에게 의의를 주고 싶습니다. 단념할까라는 마음이 굴뚝 같았지만 그런 생각이 들때마다 묵묵히 만들고 그랬던 것 같습니다. 참고로 1년사이에 영상 AI기술이 매우 늘어서 놀랐습니다. SAF 뮤비도 어느정도 AI의 도움을 받긴했지만 좀 더 리얼리스틱해지고 전반적으로 제 작업에 대한 보조를 잘 해줬기 때문에 이걸 한달 더 빨리 영상을 내놓았을 수 있었습니다.

TNO 말고도 TFR이나 KR 같은것도 만들어보고 싶은데, 막상 시작하려면 또 차근차근히 생각해야할거 같아서 비교적 빨리 만들기 좋게 TNO 모드 작품을 더 만들고 다른 모드를 만들어보려고 생각중입니다. 뭐 국내모드 도 몇개 고민중이긴한데 그건 먼 얘기니 아마 될수도 있고 안만들 수도 있는건진 미래가 알겠죠?

I do have a few ideas for what I might make next, but I’m still thinking things over. So I’d appreciate it if you could understand that requests like “please make this next” can put a little pressure on me...

The SAF War video ended up getting way more attention than I expected, so I decided to make this as sort of a spin-off. But partway through production, I stopped making videos for a while because I had to focus on studying for the military. Because of that, the pacing and overall progression didn’t turn out nearly as clean as I originally planned, especially compared to the previous SAF MV. There are definitely parts where it feels like I was forcing the editing to match the rhythm, and honestly, the whole thing is pretty rough around the edges.

If there’s anything about the video you think could’ve been done better, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts in the comments. Still, I kept telling myself that I wanted to at least finish what I started, and somehow I finally made it to the end. I’m planning to make more videos after this one as well, so I hope you’ll look forward to whatever comes next.

The lyrics actually capture the atmosphere of the 1960s surprisingly well, and they fit the world of TNO almost ridiculously well too, which made this pretty fun to work on. The video mainly follows the Ugly American event chain while also covering several of the major conflicts happening around it, so in a lot of ways this really is more of a spin-off project. That said, like I mentioned above, I ended up putting the project aside for about half a year because I had to focus on studying, and coming back to finish the rest of it after that was honestly pretty difficult.

At the very least, I want to give myself some credit for actually finishing it instead of giving up. There were plenty of times when I seriously thought about dropping the whole thing, but whenever that happened, I just kept quietly working on it little by little.

Also, it’s kind of crazy how much AI video technology has improved in just one year. The SAF MV did use some AI assistance as well, but the tools have gotten much better at producing realistic footage and, more importantly, at actually assisting with my workflow. Because of that, I was probably able to release this video about a month earlier than I otherwise would have.

I’d also like to make videos about other mods someday, like TFR or Kaiserreich. But actually starting one of those means sitting down and building everything up from scratch again, so for now I’m thinking about making a few more TNO projects first since they’re relatively easier for me to get into production.

I’ve also been thinking about a few Korean mods, but that’s much further down the road. Maybe I’ll make something with them someday, maybe I won’t. I guess we’ll see what the future has in store.
