This doctor thinks Jaxson Dart got lucky.

Dr. Dan breaks down the hit that injured Jaxson Dart’s knee against the Los Angeles Rams and explains why the Giants quarterback may have avoided a much more serious injury.

According to Dr. Dan’s breakdown, when the knee gets driven in that direction, several structures can be put at risk, including the MCL, meniscus and ACL. He says a slightly different or harder hit could potentially have produced a very different result.

He also explains what an MCL strain actually means, how doctors determine the severity of the damage and why recovery can depend heavily on how much of the ligament was actually torn.

After watching that replay, it certainly didn’t LOOK like Jaxson Dart was lucky.

But after hearing the medical breakdown, maybe he was.
