The XRP Ledger just activated a network upgrade, version 3.1.3, on May 27, 2026, that hardened two features the ledger has been building toward: Single Asset Vaults and a native Lending Protocol. For the first time, the XRP Ledger can hold pooled deposits and issue fixed term, underwritten loans at the protocol level, with each loan pool isolated inside its own single asset vault so risk does not spread across the system. This is not the anonymous, yield chasing decentralized finance that has burned so many people. It is the controlled, institutional version, with the risk controls built in first. And it is already drawing real capital. Evernorth, whose XRP treasury runs to more than 400 million XRP, has publicly said it intends to deploy into this exact lending protocol, with its chief business officer, Sagar Shah, describing it as a multi billion dollar yield opportunity for the XRP community. In this video I break down what a native lending market actually is, why the way it was built matters more than the fact that it launched, and why a settlement network that can now let value sit and work is a very different machine than one that can only move value from one place to another. This is about the architecture being built around XRP, not a price prediction.
