MNQ Live Day Trading September 2nd 2026

Today is Wednesday September 2nd 2026 Day Trading. So what lessons did I learn in a year of trading NQ (MNQ).

Block Volume set at 20 ... Can (Could) this be the answer to Volume and HVB (High Volume Bars)? Time will tell.

FEAR VS GREED VS FOMO etc. etc. etc.

Overall Down 300 on trading day ... but Tradovate Daily Loss Works that I set at $300! This is a huge burden lifted and I feel free in spirit. It's all good. I have been stressing for a very long time about blow up trading losing days!

Now ... what I know is adding from 2 Micros to 4 Micros is a double edged sword when you are losing the trading day. Obviously, I knew that already. But, I am happy to see something work that has been missing in my day trading.

That is the manual lockout of my trading account and not blowing my account in one trading day/session. This is a good thing. Hopefully, this will translate into holding my trades a little better in the future.

I have been gun shy for such a very long time ... and the FEAR of LOSING has caused a lot of my issues overall. I have to accept the losing days, but I need help. I had an opportunity today to stop trading when the account balance was 50028 (so up 28 overall).

I decided to go for it and the wheels started to come off, but the DLL I set kicked in and I consider this a WIN in a LOSING day. I know some of my best trading was when QuantGuard was working.

Tradovate offered this feature ... and I am glad Bill told me about it so I finally decided to check it out. YES it works with a Tradovate Feed from Tradovate to NT8. This is a blessing in disguise. Now, I can work on myself and my trading decisions and hopefully but the FEAR bug out of my mind and trade better overall now.

I would say going to 4 micros from 2 micros is not a good idea when you are in a loss over 150 ... the last 150 can come a lot quicker. Plus, I could feel myself losing control of my trading discipline.

This safeguard is good to know it is there. Will I hit it again? Obviously, the answer to this question is YES! Will Eval #14 be the one that crosses the finish line? The odds are a lot greater I know IF I can control my losing days/sessions.
