For the longest time, there was one category on my website that always felt incomplete Bookmarks.

Every time someone visited my store, the bookmark section sat there completely empty because everything had gone out of stock. Instead of waiting for the “perfect time” or the “perfect designer,” I decided to create something myself.

Over two days, I experimented with layouts, sizes, colours, printing, finishing, paper quality, packaging, and naming every single design until I finally built a collection I was genuinely proud of.

While I’m not an illustrator, I spent hours transforming beautiful artwork and patterns into bookmarks that fit the aesthetic of my bookstore. Every design was carefully selected, adapted for printing, tested, and paired with names that matched its personality.

This collection includes 15 different bookmark designs, each with its own vibe—from whimsical florals and vintage-inspired prints to bold Indian-inspired illustrations and playful patterns.

One of my favourite parts of this launch was naming every bookmark. Instead of boring product names, I wanted names that felt fun, memorable and full of personality.

Since choosing only one bookmark is nearly impossible, I also created random bookmark bundles so every order feels like opening a tiny surprise.

As a small business owner, every product launch teaches me something new. Every bookmark you see in this video represents hours of experimenting, learning, making mistakes, fixing them, and starting all over again.

I genuinely hope these bookmarks become a tiny part of your reading journey.

And maybe someday, when this business grows enough, I’ll be able to work with talented illustrators to create completely original collections designed exclusively for OldBookshop.
