After a lifetime of working on cars with jack stands, I finally spent $2,705 on a QuickJack 8000TL. But my first lift did not go as planned, and I almost dropped my C6 Corvette.

I’m a longtime DIYer, but I’m not getting any younger. With plenty of work planned for my C6 Corvette and my recently purchased 2013 Chevy Avalanche, I wanted a safer and more comfortable way to work in my garage.

In this video, I explain why I chose the QuickJack 8000TL instead of the less expensive VEVOR option. I unbox and set up the system, struggle to get it properly bled, and experience a genuinely scary moment with the Corvette. After bleeding the system again, I fix the problem, successfully lift the car, and install a wall-mounted storage solution for the frames and accessories.
