If pests are wrecking your veg, here's how to stop slugs, aphids and cabbage whites for free — no chemicals, no money. The garden centre wants you spending over £100 a year on slug pellets, aphid sprays, netting kits and carrot fly mesh — products that stop working the moment it rains and need buying all over again next spring.
