I'm starting to believe most of these YouTube automation gurus have never actually run a channel. So here it is straight: how to properly start a faceless YouTube channel in 2026, including the algorithm update most people still don't understand.
Step one is your niche, and you really only have two smart options. Path one is news, because Google and YouTube's Gemini integration now rewards "net information gain" above everything else, which means a trending story beats another recycled top 10 list every time. Path two is what I call ghost niches: real topics that already exist, nobody's just covering them on YouTube yet, like Florida real estate or Arkansas farm news.
Then I stop talking about it and build one live. I pick tennis, a niche I know nothing about, track a few players in Vid Ninjas, find a breaking umpire controversy, and go from niche to title to script to a fully rendered video with visuals in about 15 minutes. That's not the finished product though. Quality control, editing the script so it actually sounds like you, and fixing the voiceover is what separates a real channel from a lazy one.
