One of the top questions I get is, how do agents work? So I built an interactive site that shows you in code.

In this video I walk through howagentswork.dev step by step. We start with a single model call using the OpenAI compatible API, then add a tool call and look at the JSON schema the model needs. Then we put it all in the while loop that is the agent loop and watch a coding agent read files, edit a file, and run a test. From there we cover why the context window fills up and what compaction really is, short-term memory, long-term memory with SQLite and remember and recall tools, and a supervisor multi-agent setup where a parent delegates to a researcher and a coder. Every example has working code in the GitHub repo you can run yourself.
