FiiO is continuing their R2R rollout with the DM15, but this time they've crammed that fully discrete resistor ladder network into a modernised, desk-friendly portable CD player. It completely bypasses the usual sterile precision of standard delta-sigma chips for a lovely, smooth analogue warmth and natural timbre that makes it incredibly easy to listen to for hours without fatigue, but in this video, I'm breaking down the design, how it sounds, and whether this unique retro-modern mashup is actually worth the $269 asking price.
