Rescuers in Venezuela pulled a small dog alive from the rubble after a hours-long operation following the country’s devastating earthquakes.

Footage from El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele shows emergency crews rescuing the dog, named Giselle, from collapsed buildings in the El Palmar residential complex in Caraballeda.

Bukele said rescuers were trying to locate Giselle’s owner and asked anyone claiming the dog to provide photos or videos to confirm ownership.

According to National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez, the earthquake had killed 1,719 people and injured 5,034 more, with an unconfirmed number of people still missing as of Monday, June 29.
