Accounting in Motion · Careers — ₹32.33 LPA was the highest domestic salary offered at ICAI's campus placement for December–January — the top offer, not the typical one. So where can a Chartered Accountant work? ICAI names two roads: "start his/her own practice or … join the industry". In practice, ICAI lists services such as audit & assurance, taxation, forensic accounting, insolvency, merger & acquisition and international taxation. In industry, CAs work in accounting, finance and taxation departments and can "rise to hold responsible positions as CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Managing Directors". And ICAI notes that many MNCs and KPOs prefer Indian CAs for their expertise in IFRS and international taxation. Getting there: 3 levels (Foundation, Intermediate, Final) plus 2 years of practical training (articleship).
