3 Printers Later... My Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Saga

It took *three* Anycubic Kobra S1 Max printers to finally get one working!

*Full Disclosure:* I bought this machine with my own money. This is an 100% honest, unbiased overview of my experience—from the hardware and quality control issues out of the box to how Anycubic Support handled the entire saga. *Spoiler....they did good!

Anycubic’s customer support team has made huge strides in stepping up to take care of makers when things go wrong. However, their factory Quality Control (QC) team still needs to catch up. A customer shouldn't have to go through multiple replacement units just to get a functional 3D printer.

Once Unit #3 arrived, I did a quick unboxing and ran two initial test prints:

The Channel Staple (First-Layer Test): It turned out surprisingly decent! It wasn't flawless and had a few minor issues, but it gave me a genuine sense of optimism for where this machine can go.

The Calibration Cube: This one didn't turn out great—suffering from visible layer lines and ringing. To be fair, a few tweaked slicer settings on my end could have improved the result, but it shows what you get right out of the box.

Stick around to the end for my final verdict on Anycubic’s hardware, where support is succeeding, and what needs to change in quality control before the Kobra S1 Max can earn a full recommendation.
